Ingalls, Indiana is one of the dozens of little satellite villages that grew up around the great metropolitan city of Indianapolis. Being situated right on State Road 67 gives the residents of Ingalls a direct highway into the big city.
Almost all the folks who live in Ingalls and work have opted to commute to Indy. The town’s proximity to the state capital is handy for other reasons, too, such as shopping and entertainment.

The population of Ingalls, Indiana was put at 1,168 in the 2000 census. As is the way with most of these small hamlets in middle America and elsewhere, they are basically given over to the families who dwell in them, and solid family values prevail.
It’s a given, then, that residents of the little towns around Indy would get together and share community events such as car shows, holiday celebrations and the plentiful festivals that abound in the area.
While
it’s handy and fun to go into the metropolis for experiences and goods that are few and far between elsewhere, it’s just comfy to attend an event like a fair or a festival in a similar, small-town atmosphere, where the residents are your own neighbors.
When all is said and done there’s really no place like home, and Ingalls, Indiana is an excellent place to call home.
